Kenrokuen is one of Japan's "three most beautiful landscape gardens". It is a strolling style garden constructed during the Edo period and is noted for its beauty across all seasons. The name Kenrokuen literally means "Garden of the six sublimities", referring to spaciousness, seclusion, artificiality, antiquity, abundant water and broad views.
